At English Time we offer a service for adults who would like to study English, short or long term, in Cardiff in the U.K We provide custom made itineraries all year around for persons aged 18 years old and over. These itineraries include the organisation of accommodation with English speaking families, English classes (both in groups and or one to one), social activities during the week and trips and excursions at weekends. English Time works with Peartree Languages based in Cardiff. It opened in 2005 and is owned by Nicky Partridge. Nicky is a fully trained English Teacher and a qualified Examiner. She has been organising Junior Summer Schools and Adult programmes for many years and has lots of experience. Nicky studied at the University of Southampton where she obtained her degree in European Studies specialising in Modern Languages. She began her teaching career in the same year when she taught EFL to children in Cambridge. LINK

People are hospitable and you will find it easy to make friends and mix with local people to practice your English. From the two thousand year old castle, to the beautiful and modern Cardiff Bay, Cardiff and its surrounding area has something for everyone, and an almost an inexhaustible list of attractions to visit. The busy city centre has excellent shopping and many coffee shops, cafes, museums, cinemas, theatres, bars, pubs and clubs. Cardiff has around 380.000 habitants and is situated in the south west of the United kingdom. It is a very famous University City and has international students From all over the world.

English Time can organise collection to and from your U.K arrival airport and then you will be taken to meet your English speaking Host Family and shown where you will live during your stay in Cardiff.

Host Families
All families have to go through a strict application process and have to pass police checks and house inspections. This process it not only monitored by Peartree Languages but also by the British Council of which Peartree Languages is accredited. Families can be of all ages, can be single parents or married with and without children. The family will provide breakfast and dinner. Students will be made to feel at home and encouraged to eat with the family, share their experiences, watch T.V, together and most importantly speak English all the time. Families could have dogs, cats and other domestic animals. All houses have internet access.

English Classes
Students will attend English classes both in small groups, based on their level, and individual one to one classes too. The number of days, weeks and classes you require can be discussed together with English Time and a personal package can be arranged for you.
Each student is given a certificate at the end of their stay. English Time and Peartree Languages can also organise for you to sit official Cambridge Exams such as PET B1 and FCE First Certificate B2 during your stay in Cardiff, however your stay will have to coincide with the dates that the exams are running.

Peartree Languages Social Programme
You will also be invited to join in the Peartree Social programme which offers a wide range of different activities from Speaking Lunches to Bowling and visits to places of interest. Taking part in our social program is an excellent way to meet new friends, spend time practising your English outside the classroom and become familiar with the history, culture and way of life in the United Kingdom.
